McLure Hotel and Conference Center

We had a wonderful visit. Room was very clean. Staff was wonderful. Furniture was a little dated but had a lot of character. Air conditioner was great. We took time to visit the bar on site and had so much fun. Good atmosphere and nice dance floor. Bar staff was fun and very personable. We would stay again. Wish there was some information on the building and it’s history. Thank you for the experience.

The McClure House Hotel was absolutely amazing. My room was big and spacious. The new owners made sure to take care of any of my needs. I absolutely love their Christmas decor, with a different Christmas tree all over the hotel. The staff is friendly and super helpful. I will definitely return! Thank you for making my stay away from home so wonderful

I had the pleasure of staying at the McLure House while I was in town for Napoleon Dynamite at the Capitol Theater. The staff from reception to housekeeping was top notch. Everyone I encountered was friendly and inviting. The room was spotless, and you can tell a lot of work is put in to keep things looking fresh. The highlight of my night though was the delicious pulled pork sliders from their bar! Seriously, where can I get a pig that taste that good in my own town?! To top it off, the drink prices were very reasonable and I didn't feel as if I was paying inflated costs. If I ever find myself back in Wheeling, the McLure House will be where I reside.

The rooms were fine. Clean and neat. Newly renovated, even though it's old in some parts, they're trying to spruce it up. The lobby is nice. We were there for Labor Day weekend and the kitchen and bar were closed, which was a huge disappointment and one of the selling points on staying there. Dead town, not much around but a 7-Eleven. But for the price, it's not bad for a stay. The rooms were roomy, hardly ever seen other people. Parking garages and elevators were tricky. Would stay again.

My husband and I needed a place to crash between OH and NYC. What a lovely spot! The building is old and the ac/heating system is not up to date so they have difficulty switching between heating and cooling (though the window did open, so we were quite comfortable all night in the mild spring weather), but what a cool place to stay! The staff was helpful. The room was dated but immaculately clean - no bugs, no dust, no grime. Truly spotless. There's not much breakfast to speak of, but the staff did put out some oatmeal, granola bars, and mixed nuts. The area was a pleasant surprise for us; Wheeling has a nice small town vibe with lots of history and enough "gentrification" going on to make it beautiful but not so much to make it feel stuffy. We walked along the river to see the old suspension bridge, and it was truly beautiful. Like the hotel, the area was clean and well-maintained despite some parts being dated. We recommend it for any traveler!

The front desk rep Evan was really attentive and pleasant. I had two rooms reserved online and he got us adjoined rooms with no hassle. The rooms are not flashy but they are clean. I did not think very highly of the shower, but everything worked. Couldn't get the temp in the room exactly right but it wasn't uncomfortable. Parking garage is attached, it was clean and easy to maneuver.

I could not be happier with the service that I received at the McLure Hotel and Conference Center. The ballrooms were luxurious and spacious. The two story chandelier in the entrance was such a beautiful throwback to the McLure House's 100 year legacy. Several Presidents have stayed there, contributing to its grand history. It is close to everything in Wheeling, so I never had to drive to the numerous events on the waterfront and down town. Getting back to the staff... I was just amazed at the way they operated, especially Beth, the manager. A lot was going on for me and I was under staffed. It didn't feel like it though. Thanks to Beth and the staff, I had a very successful visit in Wheeling and I will be staying at The McLure Hotel again when I return.

The staff are the best. Always friendly. The rooms are fantastic. Always immaculately clean, huge props to Mandy and Patty in the housecleaning department. They keep the whole place spic and span. Chris at the front desk is always so friendly. The new assistant manager is fantastic.
